About the Artist

Michael Gahagan is a Glasgow artist with a particular interest in Scottish landscape/seascape painting, natural history, and animal portraiture/illustrations. For his artistic inspiration Michael travels over Scotland and has had various opportunities to sail the beautiful West Coast of Scotland and around the Inner Hebrides from where he has also been able to gather much of his subject matter.
Michael’s animal art is also in high demand particularly his acclaimed pet portraits and animal illustrations which have regularly featured in animal books and magazines.

Commissions

Michael works from his own studio where work in progress and completed paintings can be viewed by arrangement.

Exhibitions

Michael’s work frequently features in a number of Scottish Galleries and he has held a number of successful exhibitions, both solo and joint. His most recent solo exhibition “from Cadder to Balmore” captured the wonderful scenery, wild life and flora around the Forth and Clyde Canal, the historic Cadder Church, the River Kelvin and around the picturesque village of Balmore.
