Art Courses
You Can Draw!
As an artist and professionally qualified coach my aim is combine my artistic and coaching skills to help participants enjoy art and develop at a pace that suits their own level of skills and experience. I don’t believe that people can’t draw!.. I passionately believe that we can all draw and all participants from those with no art experience to more accomplished artists are able to explore their artistic interest in a supportive environment with like minded individuals.

Art Tutoring in Skyros, Greece
I am in the highly fortunate situation of being engaged as an Art tutor with holiday company Skyros (see www.skyros.com ) and each summer I teach art, watercolour painting and sketching in the beautiful Greek Island of Skyros.
Sung about by Homer and full of ancient memories, Skyros is a magical, ancient isle, about 100 miles north-east of Athens.
Its old village, with its narrow cobblestone streets, is graced with an unhurried intimacy and wholesome humanness long lost in the contemporary big cities. Its white cubic-style houses are shaded by grapevines wavering gracefully in the glittering sunlight.
Atsitsa
The Art courses are held in Atsitsa on Skyros. The beauty of Atsitsa is its simplicity, its intimate connection with nature and its timeless detachment from the outside world. Right by the sea and in the arms of a magnificent pine forest, Atsitsa has a magical quality which delights the senses and makes inroads to the heart .
The art course is one of a number of varied courses run by the Skyros company ranging from windsurfing and sailing to dance, yoga, painting and music. They are usually held outdoors on beautiful stone terraces, between the pine forest and the sea. People are free to do as much or as little as they want. There is always time to sunbathe, swim, walk in the pine forest and enjoy the tranquillity of the bay.
In 2009 I will be tutoring in Skyros from 5 – 26 September .

Art Courses on the Island of Islay
It is planned to hold short art courses on the Island of Islay in the near future. Islay, known as "The Queen of the Hebrides" is the southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides It lies in Argyll just to the west of Jura and around 25 miles (40 km) north of the Irish coast, which can be seen on a clear day. Scottish Gaelic is spoken by about a third of the population.
Islay is the fifth largest Scottish island and the sixth largest island surrounding Britain.
Islay has just over three thousand inhabitants. It has a total area of just over 600 square kilometres (239 square miles). Its main industries are malt whisky distilling, and tourism largely based on whisky and birdwatching.
The island is home to many bird species and is a popular destination throughout the year with bird watchers, notably in February to see a large colony of barnacle geese. Resident birds include chough, hen harrier, sea eagle, oystercatcher, cormorant and many wading birds.
The climate on Islay is often more clement than the Scottish mainland owing to the Gulf Stream.
Islay will be a fantastic venue for painting and sketching courses and details of future course will be provided in the near future.
